Having been born on an Air Force base, Gregory’s never been afraid of heights which may explain how he found his way to Hollywood, as a Key Grip, rigging masterful lighting on numerous film sets. Today, Gregory can be found both in the studio & on location designing creative shots and lighting set-ups for his clients while raiding their candy jars when he thinks no one’s looking. Gregory is often asked where the inspiration for his photography comes from and truth be told, it originates in his Popeye-like calves. Legend has it that these calves have been handed down through the family since the first Campbell photographed a sunset raid in the hills of the old country. Shooting on location since age 7, some of Gregory’s early work involved turtles. Disappointed when his reptilian portraits didn’t find a wide audience, he sought more commercially viable subject matter. Despite this early setback, his love of nature never flagged and today he is a backyard birder and squirrel-cursing champion. In Gregory’s world, D.I.Y is not an acronym but a way of life. While he is widely credited with inventing the camera cupholder (patent pending) he has also managed to dissemble and reassemble most every item he, his wife and 7-year-old own. In fact, some describe his house as a well-decorated tool shed. But Gregory ignores their taunts and prefers to socialize with mad scientists, patent holders and fellow Strava enthusiasts.
